In April 2027, Tohoku University will launch Gateway College, a new English-taught undergraduate program designed to nurture globally minded leaders and innovators. Through its unique “Student Journey” model, students explore a broad range of disciplines across the humanities, social sciences, and STEM fields before choosing their major. International applicants may complete the admission process online and receive admission offers before arriving in Japan. Outstanding students may also be eligible for scholarships awarded prior to enrollment.

Beyond Gateway College, Tohoku University offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in fields including engineering, science, medicine, dentistry, pharmaceutical sciences, information sciences, economics and management, education, and the humanities and social sciences.
